The sun and its ultraviolet (UV) rays can damage more than just skin. Cumulative sun exposure damages the skin and accelerates the aging process. Ultraviolet light from the sun penetrates not only the outer layer of skin, but also the layers below.

Our medical-grade peels contain a higher percentage of active ingredients than traditional spa facials. By using a higher percentage of active ingredients, you will notice better results!  Below you will find some of our Chemical Peels, schedule your consultation for one our skincare experts to look at your skin and customize the appropriate peel for your skin type and desired results!

This treatment helps lighten pigment, removes oils and dead skin around glands and follicles.  Lightly exfoliates dead skin and surface skin accumulation, and destroys surface bacteria.  This is achieved by using deep strength non-irritating Lactic 10% to promote skin rejuvenation, revealing smoother and healthier looking skin. Salicylic acid is a very effective ingredient for treating oily/acne skin types that are prone to open pores and blackheads.

Refined Retinol Treatment

This treatment helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots from both environmental and intrinsic aging. Additionally, retinol helps minimize the appearance of pore size, while reducing blemishes associated with problematic skin. Ideal for most skin types.

Long Island Iced Tea Peel

This treatment is a uniquely active formula (once applied on the skin surface) that contains significant concentrations of Vitamin A (retinol) combined with Lactic Acid. This combination allows for deeper exfoliation of surface dead skin cells as well as a powerful decongestive mechanism for the accumulation of lipids and oils that can sit on your skin.  Vitamin A at this condensed level is known for its ability to stimulate and increase the production of healthy skin, which will visibly reduce the signs of aging. The visual change of the skin can be significant!

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin’s surface.  They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin.  Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

Who are the candidates?

Anyone wanting to revitalize, regenerate, and repair their skin.  Your skin type and the results you are aspiring to achieve will determine if you are a candidate, as well as which class of peel is the most appropriate.  Always keep in consideration lifestyle, work and seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter).

What are the benefits?

Chemical Peels can enhance your appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven skin pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and acne scars in a relatively brief measure of time.  Chemical Peel accelerates the production of new cells.  You will enjoy fresh smooth skin-immediately after your first treatment.

What are the side effects?

Some side effects include uneven pigmentation, redness and very infrequent scarring if the skin is not cared for appropriately.  Sun protection is crucial to minimize the risk of side effects.  A treatment program of individually suited products and sun protection will benefit your skin’s ability to maintain the results of the peel.

What are the different types of Chemical Peels?

Superficial Peels

This is designed to help smooth coarse, dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, and even out the skin tone.  The recovery is generally rapid and usually involves some minor flaking.  Typically there is no down time and with the appropriate skin protection, you can resume regular activities immediately.

Medium Peels

Medium peels contain a stronger potency of acids.  Medium peels target the epidermis and upper epidermis ad case the skin to slough within 5 to 7 days.  Within a day the skin turns brown in color, and after 3 to 4 days the skin initiates the peeling process.

Deep Peels

Deep peels produce the most dramatic results.  These peels are recommended for treating wrinkles, scars, blemishes, and in some cases, precancerous skin lesions.  A deep peel targets the epidermis.  After a deep peel, the skin is red and results in can result in some swelling and blistering.  A crust may form and the skin will turn brown just prior to peeling.  Many layers of skin will peel over a period of 1 to 2 weeks.
